Fulham Chiropractor James Power
The Natural Philosophy of Chiropractic Inspired Me
Originally from Dublin, Ireland, I attended the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic in Bournemouth, Dorset where I successfully completed a Masters Degree in Chiropractic. Being a keen long distance runner participating in 3-4 marathons a year, I first encountered the power of Chiropractic after being treated by chiropractor for ankle injury. The natural philosophy and effective treatment techniques behind Chiropractic inspired me to become a part of this dynamic profession.
During my five years at the A.E.C.C modules included exercise rehabilitation, neurology, biochemistry, a major emphasis on anatomy and human physiology, x-ray, diagnosis, chiropractic adjusting techniques and therapeutic massage. My final year of internship at the AECC I furthered my knowledge and skills with post-graduate studies in Graston Technique, paediatrics and pregnancy.

Techniques
I primarily use manipulation of the spinal and peripheral joints combined with a variety of modalities including, for example, soft tissue techniques, rehabilitative stretches and exercises. For each patient my aim is to help repair, stabilise and maintain an optimal neuro-musculoskeletal system and to improve overall health and lifestyle. I am strong advocate of treating the cause of a problem, not just the symptoms.
I’m passionate about my work and believe that everyone and anyone can benefit from receiving Chiropractic treatment whatever their age or condition. The health of my patients is of the utmost importance to me; I always encourage a preventative approach and regularly refer to other health professionals where necessary.
A healthy spine and nervous system should be regarded as being as important as regular exercise and good nutrition.
I love keeping active, and regularly compete in marathons, triathlons, and anything that challenges me both mentally and physically. I enjoy a wide variety of sports particularly running, practicing yoga and playing golf. At weekends, I like to relax and enjoy the simple things in life –reading, travelling and spending time with friends and family.
This years marathons are Richmond Park, Berlin & Royal Parks 2011! So if you see me, say hi!
You can see my progress on the "News" page on this website to see my challenges during my training.
I am a member of the British Chiropractic Association, the College of Chiropractors and registered with the General Chiropractic Council.
